Treating, Repairing and Designing Timber Fences and Decks

Welcome to my blog! My name is Brenda, and I love designing homes and landscaping yards. In particular, I love implementing natural wood and timber into my designs. Last year, I put on new timber decking and added a fence. to our garden Through the process of working with a contractor and doing a lot of independent research, I was able to get just the type of decking and fencing I wanted, and now, I am adamant about taking great care of it. In this blog, I am going to cover a gamut of concepts related to timber decking, and I might into delve into some other posts about construction or DIY. I hope that you like my ideas!

Considerations When Constructing a Sauna in Your Home

Saunas have a multitude of benefits. Not only are they relaxing, but they also expunge toxins from the body. They have also been known to clear acne, so regular sessions in a sauna can leave you with clear skin. With all these benefits, it would be advisable to set up your own sauna kit instead of paying for the use of one at your local gym or club. The following are a few things you will need to consider.

Decide between an indoor and an outdoor sauna

The first thing you will need to decide is whether you would like to have an indoor sauna or an outdoor sauna. If you have a big house, an indoor sauna would be a good option, as you would have the space for it. If you may not have a spacious house but do have a garden that could accommodate a sauna, then you would be best suited to installing an outdoor sauna.

Select the timber wall frames for your sauna

When you are selecting a sauna kit, ensure that it is made out of quality wood. The timber wall frames that make up your sauna kit should be thick to ensure that the structure is rigid and sturdy. It is also necessary to ensure that the wood is thick so that it leaves an allowance for shrinkage. This is because once you start using your new sauna, the timber wall frames will be exposed to moisture and may shrink gradually.

Choose between a traditional or infrared sauna

You then have to choose whether you want to get a traditional sauna or an infrared sauna. The traditional sauna works by passing heat over some rocks that are installed with the sauna. You may even decide to pour some water on these rocks to produce steam. The temperatures in a traditional sauna tend to get very high. An infrared sauna, on the other hand, uses infrared radiation. This type of sauna will heat your body directly while the temperatures in the sauna remain relatively lower than in the traditional sauna.

Consider opting for a prefabricated sauna kit

If you do not want to construct your sauna from scratch, you could also consider purchasing a prefabricated sauna. This will save you the trouble of either opting to DIY or having to hire construction contractors to erect this sauna for you.  All you would have to ensure is that you have some waterproof flooring and a consistent source of electricity to power your sauna.
