Treating, Repairing and Designing Timber Fences and Decks

Welcome to my blog! My name is Brenda, and I love designing homes and landscaping yards. In particular, I love implementing natural wood and timber into my designs. Last year, I put on new timber decking and added a fence. to our garden Through the process of working with a contractor and doing a lot of independent research, I was able to get just the type of decking and fencing I wanted, and now, I am adamant about taking great care of it. In this blog, I am going to cover a gamut of concepts related to timber decking, and I might into delve into some other posts about construction or DIY. I hope that you like my ideas!

3 Ideas to Transform Your Kitchen

Interior home renovations are the perfect way to spruce up your home and give it a makeover that will make it feel like a new without the stress and hassle of purchasing a new property. Interior renovations can be fun and exciting and are only limited by your own creativity. Using an idea board is the perfect way to start planning your renovation, allowing you to collect images and ideas from as many different sources as possible. To help you get started here are 3 great styles to stimulate some ideas and help make your home unique.

1. Retro

Retro designs are a fantastic way to combine classic 1950s nostalgia with futuristic sci-fi inspired furniture. Retro often works well in the kitchen, merging black and white floor tiles with bright, bold colours and vintage styled appliances. Think back to classic American diners with their red leather chairs, chrome furnishings and neon lights, and you've got the perfect interior renovation to turn your mealtimes into a rock 'n' roll feast. Many brands have retro inspired product designs that can be used to enhance the look of your kitchen and help create a vintage vibe. With regards to the kitchen table, which is always a focus point, try using acrylic or bright leather chairs and a diner inspired metal table topped with the iconic mustard and ketchup bottles.

2. Farmhouse

The vintage farmhouse look is as cozy as it gets. Hang dried herbs from the ceiling, backdropped with stained wood fixtures and pale pastel colors. It's the perfect way to wake up and relax over a coffee without the interruptions of modern day life. White walls often contrast well with the stained wood whilst pale green and cream have a vintage feel that isn't too bold. Also, pictures and paintings of picturesque countryside scenes will really help to enhance the feel of a home in the middle of the countryside.

3. Minimalistic

Minimalistic designs should be clean, simple and tidy. Use black or white fixtures with the occasional digital LED light for a slightly futuristic feel complimented with areas of chrome metal. Try to avoid patterned appliances and paintings, instead opt for large areas of single colour. A good quality coffee machine would look fantastic; however try not to clutter the black marble work surfaces.

Have fun in your house and try to experiment to see what works. You can continue with a particular theme throughout every room or have completely contrasting ideas everywhere you turn.
